If you haven’t heard this story yet, it’s probably because you live in America where our media is more concerned with Lindsey “Zero contribution to society” Lohan.
Firstly, the story:
Taliban fighters threatened to execute 23 South Korean Christians held captive in southern Afghanistan yesterday, as United States and Afghan forces prepared for a possible rescue operation.
Afghan officials said that troops had sealed off an area of the southern province of Ghazni, where they believe the hostages are being held. The Koreans were seized from a bus on the main Kabul to Kandahar highway last Thursday in the largest single abduction of foreigners since 2001.
Now – the sad news:
The bullet-riddled body of a South Korean hostage was found by police Wednesday in central Afghanistan after a purported Taliban spokesman said the militants had killed one of the captives.
The male victim had 10 bullet holes in his head, chest and stomach, and was discovered in the Mushaki area of Qarabagh district in Ghazni province, said police officer Abdul Rahman.
The Taliban spokesman said earlier that the hostage was was killed because Afghan authorities hadn’t met their demands to release other militants from prison.
-The victim is believed to be a 42-year-old pastor named Bae Hyung-kyu.
Pray for these people. Oh, and perhaps you could pray for Lohan as well. I know it goes against instinct to want to care about her in any way. This is not the way God loves, though. She requires grace in the same way I do – even though I find it hard to feel sorry for her.
