Last year someone pointed out that Google did not have a special logo made up for Memorial Day. They gave this absolutely ridiculous reason:
“If we were to commemorate this holiday, we’d want to express reverence; however, as Google’s special logos tend to be lighthearted in nature, this would be a particularly challenging design. We wouldn’t want to create a graphic that could be interpreted as disrespectful in any way.”
Particularly challenging…? Bu(cough)llcrap!. Here’s my post from last year and my quick sketch of an idea. Also, there’s more info here.

Another Zombie Challenge: I whipped this illustration up in about ten minutes:
If I get time later maybe I will refine it a bit. I kinda like the sketchy-ness though… I will say that this wasn’t exactly what I would call “particularly challenging.”

I think the following applies to all our military servicemen.
God Bless those who have fought, and those who are still fighting – so that we may live in freedom.

Here is another suggestion. It’s really sad that we have three versions cracked out here and Google refuses to post a thing. It really makes me WISH o so BADLY there was an alternative to them on the web.

Great logo! You might consider “diversifying” the group of soldiers, to include some from different periods??? Who the heck am I?
Still looks good the way it is.
